We are a family owned business with extensive experience in the construction industry. Having lived in both urban and rural settings, Grant and Liz enjoy using and combining different elements to make the homes they work on a reflection of the people who live there. They believe that homeowners should enjoy both the interior and exterior of their homes.
Grant brings vast experience in the exterior of home development and renovation. This includes painting and coating products, completing interior and exterior finishes, roofing (asphalt shingle, metal, clay, concrete tile) and siding (vinyl and concrete-based). He continues to stay current and relevant in the construction industry through attending seminars, workshops and taking courses. His Business Administration degree provides him with well-rounded knowledge to better serve his clients and run Rurban Developments. In his spare time, he likes to build and work on wood working projects. He’s also an avid sports fan and enjoys playing curling and baseball. His love of history and horses are combined in various community horsemanship groups and activities.
Liz brings her interior design, accounting and project management experience in the construction industry to Rurban Developments. She had a passion for color and design from an early age which brought her to attain her Interior Design degree, majoring in Color Theory and Architecture. Having a very personable and out-going personality, she really enjoys speaking with clients and other businesses about their design and renovation ideas and goals. In her spare time, she performs with the Big Rock Singers in Okotoks and volunteers with local 4-H clubs. She holds her certification in Equine Assisted Learning Facilitation and Equine First Aid as she also participates in and enjoys various community activities involving horses.
They live on an acreage in the Foothills close to Okotoks, Alberta. Being hands-on people they continue to develop, expand, renovate and bring in fresh new design ideas to their own home.
